This country loves having rules for everything. There are rules everywhere. You can find the most imaginative rules in the most unexpected places. As a consequence, there are lots of people that have to skip those rules! It is practically impossible to follow all the rules even if you wanted!
Lúa broke a few rules on the beach, such as running on the beach and splashing in the water. She wasn't the only one. Adam and I were intently splashing at each other to see if we were called to attention by the life guards, but they didn't. Disappointing! There were three young life guards guarding this mini beach!
But they actually used the whistle to call the attention of not so well-behaved children and adults...
En este país adoran las normas. Tienen normas para todo y te puedes encontrar las normas más sorprendentes en los lugares más inesperados. Por ello, mucha gente se ve obligada a saltarse unas cuantas normas con la mayor naturalidad. A veces es prácticamente imposible seguirlas todas aunque quisieras.
En la mini playa de la foto había 10 normas escritas, entre ellas la de no salpicarse en el agua, ni correr en la arena. Lúa se saltó ambas. Adam y yo queríamos comprobar si los socorristas estaban atentos y empezamos a salpicarnos en el agua, pero no tocaron el silbato para detener nuestro comportamiento incívico. Y eso que había tres socorristas para vigilar esa mini playa.
Finalmente pudimos comprobar que sí usaban el silbato para detener comportamientos no permitidos...
As soon as Adam stepped on the water in the below attire, he heard the whistle and was told he couldn't get into the water in his jeans! That rule wasn't even written!
En cuanto Adam puso el pie en el agua con ese atuendo, tocaron el silbato para llamarle la atención. No estaba permitido bañarse en vaqueros. ¡Y esa norma no estaba ni escrita!
Inappropiate attire. Lúa!!!
